NFL Week 6 Prop Bets: The Bengals and Cooper Kupp Are Back

Last week, there were plenty of intriguing matchups. The Ravens-Steelers matchup was low-scoring per usual, while Cowboys-49ers was not so great for Dallas. The NFL is really a week-to-week league. With that, let’s analyze the three best player and/or team prop bets for Week 6 of the 2023 NFL season.

NFL WEEK 6 PROP BETS: Have the Bengals Figured It Out?

The Cincinnati Bengals entered 2023 with understandably high expectations. The Bengals reached the Super Bowl in 2021 and the AFC Championship game in 2022. But, Cincy started the year 1-3, averaging roughly 12 points-per-game. All seemed bleak in the Queen City, then week 5 happened. The Bengals offense popped. Joe Burrow tossed for over 300 yards, and Ja’Marr Chase won everyone’s fantasy weeks.

The big question: Can the Natti do it again? They’re certainly capable with Burrow, Chase, Mixon, and the possible return of Tee Higgins. This week, the Bengals host the Seattle Seahawks. Cincinnati’s over/under team point total is 24.5 with +106 odds to bet the over at Fanduel Sportsbook. We like the over on this bet.

Seattle gives up about 23 points per game, which is in the bottom half of the NFL. But, the Seahawks defense is actually worse than that because they got to play against the New York Giants. Seattle gives up over 29 points-a-contest against teams other than the Giants. That total would be 5th-worst in the league.

It’s no secret the Bengals have underachieved to start the season. Now is the time they need to pick it up. Cincinnati’s offense finally came to life in week five. The Bengals are at home and should have no trouble exploiting a vulnerable Seahawks defense in week 6.

Welcome Back, Cooper Kupp

Prior to last week, the last time people saw Cooper Kupp on the field was week 10 of last season. Kupp missed the remainder of 2022 with a high ankle sprain. The Los Angeles Rams’ top receiver was then sidelined the first four weeks of this year with a hamstring injury. Kupp made his return last week and he delivered with eight catches for 118 yards. He’s back.

Kupp is one of the best receivers in football. The former All-Pro showed it last week against a tough Eagles defense. This week, Kupp has a prime opportunity to explode against the Arizona Cardinals. Kupp’s over/under receiving total is 86.5 yards at Underdog Fantasy. We love the over on this total.

The Cardinals give up over 250 passing yards per-game, which is bottom-10 in the league. Arizona has given up over 100 yards to a receiver in back-to-back weeks. Those receivers were Brandon Aiyuk and Ja’Marr Chase. Now, enter Kupp, who is arguably better than both of those guys. Not only do we predict the Rams wideout to go over 86.5 yards, we believe he’ll cross the century mark for the second-straight game.

Breece Hall Unlocked

New York Jets running back Breece Hall looked like he could’ve been offensive rookie of the year before tearing his ACL in week 7 last season. Hall averaged nearly 100 yards-per-game from scrimmage and scored five touchdowns. This season, New York worked the former second-round pick back slowly from injury. But, heading into its matchup with the Denver Broncos last week, Jets head coach Robert Saleh said, “there is no pitch count with him anymore.” Saleh wasn’t kidding.

Hall ran for a career-high 177 yards on 22 carries. The running back caught an additional three passes for 17 yards. Fellow backs Dalvin Cook and Michael Carter received 10 touches combined. It appears Hall has regained his form as the Jets’ top option out of the backfield.

Hall’s over/under heading into Sunday’s contest against the Philadelphia Eagles is 65.5 rushing yards. We like the over on this total.

The Eagles have the best run-defense in the league right now, but Hall still has upside. While the second-year man dominated the touches last week, he only had a 52% snap share. That figures to go up now that New York has seen Hall explode with a full workload. Philadelphia should be a much bigger challenge than Denver, but Hall shouldn’t have trouble going over 65.5 rushing yards.
