NFL Week 11 Preview: Eagles vs. Chiefs Odds and Best Bets

With apologies to fans of the Giants and Commanders, we’re going with the Super Bowl rematch as our game of the week.

Back in olden times, before Sunday Night Football was billed as the premier matchup of the week, there would often be a game about midway through the season that would get this level of shine on a Monday night. Such hype was in place for Giants-49ers, set for week 13 in 1990. Both teams went into Thanksgiving weekend at 10-0, with a clash of unbeatens on the horizon the next week.

Both teams lost their game before their head-to-head matchup. But, we still got a tense battle of 10-1 teams under the lights. And it set up the epic NFC Championship Game at Candlestick a few weeks later. You can’t always get what you want. But if you try sometimes…

The NFL schedule-makers assured us the teams in this week’s Monday night matchup suffered no similar letdown. Both the Eagles and Chiefs come into this game off a bye, with both as the current 1-seeds in their respective conference. Both teams are balanced, explosive, and boast a dynamic Swift-Kelce combo.

Everything about this game points to it being highly entertaining, and a potential preview of a rematch come February. The past is the future, and the present is the past. Let’s find the best bets in the Eagles vs. Chiefs odds.

Jalen Hurts OVER Rushing Yards (Up to 29.5)

The script has been flipped with the 2023 Kansas City Chiefs. While their offense is still among the best in the game, their defense has actually been the superior unit. Kansas City ranks fourth in the NFL in yards allowed per game, and second in points allowed.

But right now, they are not at full strength. Linebacker Nick Bolton is on Injured Reserve, leaving a hole in the middle of a defense that has already been susceptible to quarterback runs. The Chiefs allowed Russell Wilson to run for at least 30 yards against them twice. Justin Fields ran for 47 — the lone highlight in a Chiefs blowout win.

Jalen Hurts has cleared 30 yards rushing six times in nine games. A reduced line due to the Chiefs’ strong defense should provide some value and keep his over-under total in the 20s.

Rashee Rice OVER Receiving Yards (Up to 45.5)

In the Year of the Rookie, Rashee Rice has come out of nowhere to become the Chiefs’ WR1. The trust with Patrick Mahomes is building, as he is getting touches in high-leverage spots.

This year, the Eagles’ defense has been solid but relatively weak against the pass. They rank 28th in passing yards allowed per game, and have allowed the most fantasy points to wide receivers according to Yahoo!

Rice’s line might seem inflated for a rookie going up against the defending NFC Champions, but that tax is there for a reason. Don’t be afraid to pay it. And if you’re feeling frisky, go ahead and sprinkle on some of his alternate lines. DraftKings also has an early touchdown prop of +245.

EAGLES VS. CHIEFS ODDS: Under 46.5 (-115 on FanDuel)

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me 25 out of 32 times, well…

That post was written after the Jets-Raiders snoozer last Sunday night. But the trend held to form on Monday, as the Broncos and Bills just slid under the 47 most people got at CoB. 25-7 to the under… under the lights.

This is where we look back to Kansas City’s strong defense. Six of their nine games have ended under this total. The Eagles have played just two top-10 ranked defenses this season. Those games ended with an average total of 42.5. We are banking on this one being more of a rock fight than a shootout.
