NFL QB Rankings

Ranking the top two QBs is easy. Deciding the other 30 spots is hard. Somehow had to do it though, so here are our QB rankings.

1. Josh Allen, Bills

The MVP is his to lose.

2. Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs

Leads the league in passing yards (2,159), TD passes (20), and QBR (76.8)

3. Joe Burrow, Bengals

It is really amazing that the single game passing yards record Burrow chased on Sunday was set in Week 1 of 1951.

Here’s a crazy stat: After Norm van Brocklin threw for 554, he did not top 167 passing yards the rest of the season.

4. Lamar Jackson, Ravens

Jackson is fifth in the league in rushing and fourth in passing TD.

5. Aaron Rodgers, Packers

If you switched Rodgers’ receivers with Burrow’s, I have a feeling no one would be worrying about Rodgers.

6. Justin Herbert, Chargers

Herbert is still 19-20 in his career as a starter.

7. Tom Brady, Bucs

He’s thrown 1 INT in 296 passes. Calm down.

8. Jalen Hurts, Eagles

Hurts is in the top five in yards per attempt and his completion percentage is up 5.5 points from last season.

9. Tua Tagovailoa, Dolphins

Tua leads the league in yards per attempt with 8.6

10. Dak Prescott, Cowboys

Has looked very shaky in his first two starts this season.

11. Geno Smith, Seahawks

It would be easier to make a case that he should be higher than it would to say we’re overrating him.

12. Derek Carr, Raiders

Has been weirdly inaccurate this season, at 63.5%, after four straight seasons of completing more than two-thirds.

13. Kyler Murray, Cardinals

Only Joe Flacco has a lower yards per attempt than Murray’s 5.9

14. Trevor Lawrence, Jaguars

After a strong start, Lawrence has only thrown 1 TD in his last three games, all losses

15. Kirk Cousins, Vikings

We bet on Kirk Cousins for MVP before the season because we thought the Vikings would be good. Well, they have been, but Kirk’s playing his worst football in eight years.

16. Russell Wilson, Broncos

Russ’s completion percentage is more than 10 points lower than his 2020 number.

17. Jimmy Garoppolo, 49ers

Garoppolo has thrown 9 TD this season which is the third highest total of his entire career.

18. Ryan Tannehill, Titans

Weird stat: Tannehill is 9th in QB rating but 26th in QBR.

19. Daniel Jones, Giants

Jones’ completion percentage has gone up and his interception percentage has gone down in every season of his career.

20. Marcus Mariota, Falcons

Only Justin Fields(!) has a higher yards per completion than Mariota’s 12.8.

21. Matthew Stafford, Rams

Has thrown 25 INT in his last 23 regular season games.

22. Jared Goff, Lions

He’s 4-15-1 as the Lions’ starting QB.

23. Jameis Winston, Saints

Only Mac Jones, Kenny Pickett, and Justin Fields are throwing interceptions more frequently than Winston.

24. Jacoby Brissett, Browns

Few QBs have been more consistent than Brissett, who has thrown for between 220 and 266 yards six weeks in a row.

25. Davis Mills, Texans

His numbers, which seemed surprisingly competent for a third round rookie, have been worse this season. A top three pick awaits Houston.

26. Zach Wilson, Jets

Yes, his completion percentage is abysmal. Sure, he has as many RECEIVING TD(!) as passing TD. But, last season he was the worst QB in the league and this season he has merely been below average.

27. Mac Jones, Patriots

Has thrown 6 INT in just 103 passes.

28. Taylor Heinicke, Commanders

Heinicke was surprisingly good on the ground last season, with 60 carries for 313 yards.

29. P.J. Walker, Panthers

Hasn’t thrown an INT in his first two starts this season. Could he keep the job over the returning Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold.

30. Justin Fields, Bears

No QB has been sacked more than Justin Fields, who has been taken down 27 times.

31. Kenny Pickett, Steelers

Has thrown 7 INT this season in  127 attempts. That’s how many picks Aaron Rodgers has thrown since the start of last season, in 775 attempts. He’s also thrown 48 TD in that span, to Pickett’s 2.

32. Sam Ehlinger, Colts

Was drafted after Kellen Mond and Ian Book last season.
