The 12 Best NFL Futures Bets To Make Today

It’s the last day to get your bets in before the NFL season. In the interest of full transparency here are the 12 futures bets we made before the NFL season.

1. The NFC North to finish 1. Packers, 2. Vikings, 3. Lions, 4. Bears  (+440, All bets FanDuel)

Take this one to the bank.

2. The Texans first win to come against the Commanders in Week 11 (+4000)

Houston’s first nine games are:

vs. IND

@ DEN

@ CHI

vs. LAC

@ JAX

Bye

@ LV

vs. TEN

vs. PHI

@ NYG

While they certainly could beat the Giants, Jaguars, or the Bears on the road they won’t be favored in any of those games. This will be a fun bet to sweat.

3. The Texans under 4.5 wins (+100)

Along the same lines.

4. The Cowboys to be the last undefeated team (+1400)

5. The Colts to be the last undefeated team (+1900)

Our top two contenders to be the final undefeated team had pretty high odds. We have the Colts losing their first game Week 7 in Tennessee and Dallas losing Week 5 at the Rams, but we don’t have another team going 4-0 besides these two.

6. The 49ers to be the one seed in the West (+900)

These are tricky because it involves Trey Lance getting off to a good start OR they Niners winning in spite of Lance until they can switch back to Jimmy G. This is the most talented team in an unusually weak NFC. The Packers have no receivers, the Bucs QB is 45 years old, we’re not sold on Jalen Hurts. Love this at +900.

7. Tom Brady under 4,500.5 yards (-112)

You’re basically betting on Brady to miss a game here. He topped 5,000 in 17 games last season, playing the full Week 18 game, which is far from a guarantee most years for Tampa.

8. Jalen Carter to be the first overall pick (+3000)

Carter looked dominant against Oregon in Week 1. Will Anderson and the QB du jour are probably better bets but these are great odds for a top five lock.

9. Arizona Cardinals to make playoffs (+118)

This is pretty simple: the Cardinals, along with the Cowboys, Eagles, Packers, Bucs, Rams, and 49ers, are one of the seven best teams in the NFC. People are sleeping on Arizona.

10. Bills-Chargers AFC Title game (+1100)

This was my predicted AFC title game, and it was also my podcast partner Alexander Chester’s title game pick.

11. Kirk Cousins to win NFL MVP (+4000)

This is getting trendy; Kyle Brandt and Michael Irvin have both picked Cousins for MVP in the past few days. But, Cousins fits the MVP bill:

  1. Is a QB
  2. Throws a bunch of TDs
  3. Doesn’t throw interceptions
  4. Plays 17 games every year
  5. We just need the Vikings to win 11+ games and we’re set.

12. Tua Tagovailoa to win NFL MVP (+6000)

Hey, you never know.
