Kirk Cousins, Vikings Agree on Contract Extension

The Minnesota Vikings and Kirk Cousins agreed to a contract extension that provides salary cap relief for the team while the starting quarterback gets a significant raise. The deal lowers Cousins’ cap figure from $45 million in 2022 to $31.5 million, while fully guaranteeing Cousins’ money through 2023. Although Minnesota failed to make the playoffs, Cousins is coming off one of his best seasons, throwing for 4,221 yards with 33 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
