2022 QB Rankings

If you look at fantasy football QB rankings and odds, you’ll notice that seven of the top eight QB’s are between the ages of 24-26 and the other QB is 45. Totally normal. Anyway, here are our QB rankings, from 1-32, with a fun fact or two about every QB.

1. Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs

Mahomes lost his top receiver and Travis Kelce is turning 33 soon. Will that matter? Probably not. Fun fact: Mahomes is 58-16, including playoffs, as a starter.

 2. Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills

Josh Allen’s stats in the playoffs last season: 48 for 62, 77.4 Comp %, 9 TD, 0 INT, 149.0 Rating

3. Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers

Rodgers has thrown 75 TD and 9 INT over the past two seasons.

4. Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals

Burrow led the league in yards per attempt (8.9) and times sacked (51) last season.

5. Tom Brady, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Brady led the league in passing yards last season, the fourth time he has done so in his career. His ages during those four seasons: 28, 30, 40, 44.

6. Russell Wilson, Denver Broncos

2021 was the first time in his career Wilson missed a game and the first time he had a losing record as a starter (6-8).

7. Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers

Last year he became just the ninth player in NFL history to have a 5,000 yard passing season.

8. Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams

Had never won a playoff game before winning four last season en route to the Super Bowl… Actually tied Trevor Lawrence for the most interceptions thrown (17), though he threw 29 more TD passes than Lawrence did.

9. Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys

Twenty years ago, a quarterback completing 68.8% of his passes would have been called a witch. Last year, it was only good for fourth in the league for Dak.

10. Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens

Jackson has seen his interception go up every season as a starter, while his TD passes and rushing yards have gone down each season. He’s still 37-12 as a starter, though.

11. Deshaun Watson, Cleveland Browns

The last time Watson won an NFL game was Thanksgiving 2020, and that might not change until next year if the NFL wins their appeal.

12. Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals

Murray is 22-23-1 in his career as a starter.

13. Kirk Cousins, Minnesota Vikings

Cousins is reunited with Kevin O’Connell, who was his coordinator in Washington in 2017. Kirk actually had one of the worst seasons of his career in 2017, with his lowest completion percentage in his seven years as a starter (64.2%).

14. Derek Carr, Las Vegas Raiders

Carr finally played in a playoff game last season, five years after missing what would have been his playoff debut with an injury in 2016. He threw for 310 yards with one TD and one INT in a loss to the Bengals.

15. Ryan Tannehill, Tennessee Titans

Only Joe Burrow (51) was sacked more than Ryan Tannehill (47) last season.

16. Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles

Despite missing two games, Hurts led all QB’s in rushing yards with 784.

17. Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins

Tua’s 204.1 passing yards per game was better than only Jameis Winston, plus rookies Zach Wilson and Justin Fields.

18. Jameis Winston, New Orleans Saints

Winston had 30 interceptions in 16 games in 2019 and 3 interceptions in 7 games in 2021.

19. Baker Mayfield, Carolina Panthers

Year Four for Mayfield was unquestionably the worst of his career. His QBR fell from 65 to 35 and his net yards gained per pass attempt fell under 6 for the first time in his career.

20. Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars

Lawrence had a nine game stretch last season where he threw just two total TD passes (against eight interceptions).

21. Carson Wentz, Washington Commanders

Wentz threw 27 TD passes and 7 interceptions last season. So, why was Indianapolis thrilled to get rid of him? It’s not totally clear, but he was one of the league’s least accurate passers despite throwing shorter passes than most QB’s.

22. Matt Ryan, Indianapolis Colts

First the good: 2021 was Ryan’s 13th straight season playing at least 14 games. The bad? It was his fourth straight losing season, he had easily the lowest QBR of his career (46.1), and he’s now 37 years old.

23. Mac Jones, New England Patriots

Jones threw 51 passes in a loss against the Saints and he threw 3 passes in a win against the Bills. Football is a funny game.

24. Jared Goff, Detroit Lions

Goff was 42-20 in his final four years with the Rams, before landing in Detroit and going 3-10-1 in his first season with the Lions.

25. Marcus Mariota, Atlanta Falcons

Mariota has thrown just 30 passes over the past two seasons. Mariota’s last win as a starter actually came in Atlanta… on September 29, 2019… If you’re a believer, Mariota’s Comeback Player of the Year odds are +1400.

26. Trey Lance, San Francisco 49ers

Lance averaged 220 passing yards and 60 rushing yards in his two starts last season, a loss to Arizona and a win against Houston.

27. Davis Mills, Houston Texans

Mills was more up-and-down than any other QB in the league last season. Consider first first two starts in October:

Oct. 3, at Bills: 11 for 21, 87 Yards, 0 TD, 4 INT, 40-0 Loss

Oct. 10 vs. Pats: 21 for 29, 312 Yards, 3 TD, 0 INT, 25-22 Loss

28. Justin Fields, Chicago Bears

Fields was 2-8 as a starter last season, throwing just 7 TD passes last season.

29. Daniel Jones, New York Giants

Instead of complaining about Jones, here are some nice things to say about Jones last season. He had the most accurate season of his career, his interception rate hit a career-low, he took very few sacks, had his highest yards per attempt, and cut his fumbles to 7 after fumbling 19 times as a rookie and 10 times in 2020. Let’s see how 2022 goes.

30. Mitchell Trubisky, Pittsburgh Steelers

It says here that Kenny Pickett will have the Steelers starting gig by Week 4. But, did you know Trubisky is 29-21 in the first 50 starts of his career.

31. Drew Lock, Seattle Seahawks

Lock started the last three games of the 2021 season for the Broncos, playing against all three of Denver’s AFC West division rivals. The Broncos lost all three games, but Lock was competent; he didn’t throw an interception in the three game stretch.

32. Zach Wilson, New York Jets

If you squint you can see a few positives from Wilson’s rookie season, most notably that he did not throw an interception in the final five games of the season.
