Best College Basketball Bets Today: Why #3 Purdue and #9 Arizona both Cover

A great slate of games for Monday. It was another bad day for our best bets as we went 1-2, but we look to do better today with great NCAAB odds available.

Sunday started off with Michigan State pulling out a win against Northwestern to secure their 12th win of the season in a 73-67 win. Later on we had Indiana taking on Penn State in a great game, in which the Nittany Lions were able to pull away at the end to pull off the upset in a 61-58 win. Finally Houston took on Temple in a surprisingly close game. Houston was able to pull away towards the end to win 66-61 and secure their 12th win of the season.

Now let’s take a closer look for the best bets ahead of Monday.

#24 Wisconsin vs. #3 Purdue

The Bet: Purdue -12.5

A great Big Ten matchup in store for Monday as Wisconsin takes on Purdue. Both teams ranked in the top 25 as well should be set to provide an entertaining game.

Purdue is 12-1 on the year and 8-0 at home this season. Their only loss came to Rutgers on a last second shot from half court. Besides that one stunning game they are a great team that has shown up for every game. The Boilermakers are proving they are a legit top tier team and program this year with an amazing start to the season. They average 87.2 points per game on 51.6% shooting from the field as a team. They average 19 assists as a team as well. They are a high powered offense and have no problem scoring at will. They are considered one of if not the best offensive teams in the country. They are looking for a big win against a ranked conference rival to continue their early season dominance.

Wisconsin off to a great start to the season at 10-2. The Badgers are one of the best teams in a great Big Ten conference. They are a good offensive team, but not as good as Purdue. Their slight advantage over Purdue comes on the defensive end. Wisconsin has been great on defense this season only allowing opponents 63 points per game. Wisconsin is led by sophomore guard Johnny Davis. Davis leads Wisconsin in points, rebounds, and assists. Davis is currently averaging 20.8 points per game and is a huge part of the offense. The offense flows through Davis, if he can score the Badgers are in good shape.

With Purdue’s dominant offense we like them to cover the 12.5 point spread.

Washington vs. #9 Arizona

The Bet: Arizona -22.5

A Pac-12 matchup on Monday between Washington and Arizona. We hope for a good game, but Arizona should have no problem winning this game.

Arizona is off to a great start to the season at 11-1 so far. They are number nine in the country for a reason. They have dominated almost every game they have played in so far, however they are coming off a 77-73 loss to Tennessee. Besides that game Arizona has played great in every game this season. Arizona has played extremely well on both offense and defense. They average 89.5 points scored per game, while allowing 64 points per game to opponents. They are easily playing at an extremely high level, specifically on the offense. While scoring at a high rate they shoot at a high percentage as well at almost 50%. Their great shooting comes from great opportunities. They are a great team that plays well together and averages over 20 assists a game. They are one of the most well rounded offensive teams in the country and should have no trouble bouncing back this game.

Washington is off to a 5-5 start to the season. This is their first conference game of the season and it will be a hard test against a top ranked Arizona team. Washington is an offensively challenged team. They do not play well as a team averaging under 10 assists a game and shooting under 40% from the field as a team. They allow more points than they score and have looked worse as the season goes on. They should not be looking to solve their issues against a top ranked team.

With Washington’s struggles, we like Ariozna to cover the 22.5 point spread.

Maryland vs. Iowa

The Bet: Iowa -8

The final game of the night is another Big Ten matchup. A great matchup between Maryland and Iowa. This game should provide tons of entertainment.

Iowa is off to a good start to the season, but they are looking to get back in the top 25. They are off to a 10-3 start, but an 0-2 in conference play. Iowa is looking to change that with a big win against Maryland. Iowa is a great offensive team, they can score whenever they need to. They have scored over 100 points in three different games this year. They average 88 points per game and shoot 47.8% from the field. They turn the ball over at a very low rate and play well together as a team. As one of the best offensive teams in the nation, their opponents must figure out a way to slow them down.

Maryland is off to a good start to the season as well with an 8-4 start. They have won three straight including an impressive win over Florida. Maryland has looked inconsistent at many times this season. There are many games where they seem out of sorts on offense, but their defense keeps them in games. They currently allow 65.8 points per game to opponents, not amazing but better than Iowa. Maryland’s defense may be sharp enough to disrupt Iowa’s offense, but the Terrapins need offense of their own.

With Maryland’s offensive struggles we like Iowa to cover the 8 point spread.
