Overview

SI Sportsbook has good user feedback, is a reputable brand, and is partnered with established gambling brand 888. Customer support and banking still need improvement, but overall, SI is a Sidelines recommended sportsbook.

Features

Sports Illustrated’s sportsbook has all the standard features sports bettors want. That includes:

The average sports bettor will find everything they are looking for at SI. That is only part of it, though, as SI has some unique and stand-alone features, a big reason why SI is worth trying.

Unique Features

In an effort to stand out in the crowd, SI has tapped into its large fanbase and the company’s decades of expertise in the sports marketplace to build some of the coolest features currently available in the sportsbook space.

Most Unique Feature: Bet Feed

The Sports Illustrated bet feed is a unique feature with a tab on the main menu. The Bet Feed Tab takes users into the SI community of bettors.

It allows users to see who other bettors are backing, recent wagers, and more. Users can filter by sports and bet types to find exactly what they want.

For example, a user could go to the Bet Feed, filter by sports, choose basketball, filter by bet type, and choose straight wagers.

This would show all recent straight bets on NBA spreads, moneylines, and over/under wagers. Lastly, bettors can filter by popularity, most recent bets, and the event start time.

It is important to note that the bet feed is a unique feature of the SI Sportsbook. There are no other sportsbooks out there right now that share this feature in precisely the same way.

This is another example of why SI Sportsbook is pushing its way into the market.

Exclusive NFL Insights

For all wagers on NFL odds, SI provides bettors with NFL-exclusive news and insights, helping bettors be better informed.

Related News

Sports Illustrated is better known as a magazine company whose cover pages are a lifetime goal to make it on for most athletes.

Also known for its strong editorial staff, from the home page, users can look at the latest news articles from the SI staff. Often these articles will share essential betting information that can help users place smarter bets.

Appearance Mode

A quick and simple feature that SI Sportsbook has for the convenience and pleasure of its users.

From the menu on the left side in the desktop version or from the triple bar drop-down menu in the mobile app, users can choose their screen background to be light or dark. While very simple, it is a nice aesthetically pleasing touch.

Platform Usability & Simplicity

One thing that cannot be overstated in the sports betting experience is how easy it is to place a bet.

All the features and functions are great, but when it comes down to it, it needs to be easy to place simple wagers. SI sportsbook knocks it out of the park. Highlighted by user reviews, it is easy to place bets on the SI Sportsbook.

No worry about finding the college basketball lines from the SI main menu; the NCAAB tab, along with the other most popular sports, can be noticed at the middle top of the browser page.

Click on NCAAB, see available games to bet on, choose your bet, look at your bet slip, enter your wager amount and click PLACE BET.

Markets & Odds Comparison

One of the most important factors in any sportsbook is the availability of sports to bet on, the types of bets that can be placed, and sports betting odds.

SI Sportsbook, while only available currently in a few American markets, does an excellent job of keeping odds consistent market to market.

Yet even in the case that sports betting odds differ slightly, users can use the SI Bet Builder to combine selections from different markets with the same game to create custom bets with the best odds.

The available sports to bet on at SI are also limitless, with one of the best selections of any sportsbook.

It is also worth noting that there are many competitions for betting on each sport when it is in season. Take basketball, for example. There are NBA odds, college basketball odds, and double-digit overseas professional leagues that bettors can find odds for at SI Sportsbook.

In fact, most sports offered at the Sports Illustrated sportsbook have multiple leagues to bet on. Once inside the app or on the website, once you have gone to a specific sports page, at the top, click competitions. It will then break down your options by country and then leagues within a country.

The betting availability type at the SI Sportsbook has a wide variety as well, with all of the usual types of bets a user wants, along with some unique types not carried at all sportsbooks. SI also has a custom bet builder that makes betting options almost countless.

Live Betting at SI Sportsbook

One of the most essential features of sportsbooks today is the live betting options. SI Sportsbook is good in this area, as many live betting options exist. If there are some sports being played, there is a solid chance that you can place a wager on it at the SI Sportsbook.

Users from either the mobile app or the website of SI Sportsbook do not have to look hard. There is a tab that says LIVE NOW. When a user clicks that, it takes them to see the latest live odds. If it is an NFL Sunday, users will find all the live NFL lines you might be looking for.

It is also essential to share that as long as your internet speed is good (8-10 MBPS), the live betting function at SI Sportsbook is very fast and efficient. When live betting odds are updating quickly, it is crucial to place live bets quickly as odds constantly update as a game is being played. SI Sportsbook has very little to no issues with this.

User experience

The experience of navigating the Sports Illustrated Sportsbook website and the sports betting app was enjoyable. It is easy to use, and navigating to and from various sports and events is a breeze. Placing bets is simple and even the sign-up process, which can often be tedious, was quick.

It has already been mentioned, but perhaps the most critical function of a sportsbook is being able to place bets. The SI Sportsbook functions very highly in that regard. The platform is fast, and reports of crashes are minimal. Especially in live betting, the SI Sportsbooks functions very quickly to ensure bets can be placed as odds are also updated. The first wager placed in the review was a college football bet. Finding college football betting lines took only seconds, and placing the bets similarly only took a few seconds.

This applies to both the mobile app and desktop website experience. Each has a similar feel, with the mobile version slightly slimmed down. Regardless, both are easy to place wagers on and easy to navigate from section to section. The desktop site is not filled with countless ads and popups that get in the way of the betting experience as some other sportsbook desktop sites are.

The downside to the user experience is that customer service at the SI Sportsbook is not readily available. Having to wait 24 hours for a customer service response for something that could be handled very quickly via a chat service or phone tree support is not available at SI.

Banking options are also limited, and while they function well, there are few options. It stands to reason that both customer service and banking options need improvement at SI. As the sportsbook grows, it is likely to happen, but it is an issue right now.

Overall the user experience at SI sportsbook is positive, and SI is solid in most essential areas. As a newer sportsbook, there is room for growth, and knowing the SI brand, it surely will.

Signing up at Sports Illustrated Sportsbook

To sign up at the Sports Illustrated sportsbook, here is a step-by-step guide ensuring your sign-up process is easy steps 1-2-3.

  1. Go to the SI Sportsbook desktop site or mobile app available on Android and IOS app stores.
  2. Enter personal information
    1. Name
    2. Date of birth
    3. Home address and mailing address, if not the same
    4. Social Security Number
    5. Email
    6. Phone Number
    7. Set up a username and password of your choosing
  3. Set up your banking information for deposits and withdrawals from your SI Sportsbook account.

You are ready to start placing wagers on any of your favorite MLB odds or any other of your favorite sports or events.

While the sign-up process is simple, it is nonetheless important that you follow the instructions. Any error that occurs during registration can cause a delay in when a user can start using their sportsbook account at Sports Illustrated.

Mobile Experience

As mentioned in the user experience, the mobile experience at Sports Illustrated sportsbook is excellent, just like the desktop version. SI Sportsbook is one of the best sports betting apps available. The reason is simple; it is easy to use, navigate and place bets.

When attempting to place a futures bet for who will win the World Series next season from the mobile app. The MLB odds were easy to find, choose a team, and place the bet. Overall the mobile app was what it should be. An easy-to-use platform, it runs fast and efficiently, and placing bets is easy.

Another great thing about the mobile app is that its layout and operation run very similar to the website version of SI Sportsbook. It makes for a seamless transition for users that find themselves using both platforms.

How good is the customer service?

Especially compared to other major sportsbooks, customer service may be the biggest weakness of the Sports Illustrated Sportsbook. A question mark icon quickly identifies the Customer Service Center, yet no immediate response options are available.

With no immediate response option available, it is hard to grade SI Sportsbook highly in the customer service department. If a user needed help finding the NFL betting odds, an effortless task, it could take as long as 24 hours before customer service gets back to them.

When we reached out in the late afternoon for a simple question, the SI Sportsbook customer service department got back to us by the following day. Overall it took about 16 hours, yet from other customer reviews, times can vary. The average appears to be in the 12-16 hour range, getting a response by early the day after an email or help form is sent.

The one thing that saves the customer service department at SI Sportsbook a little is that they are very helpful and can resolve any issues. Regardless, in today’s sports betting landscape waiting 24 hours for customer support is outrageous and not the industry standard.

Summary

After a complete and comprehensive review of the Sports Illustrated sportsbook, one word comes to mind. SOLID, not amazing, not bad, but solid. The SI Sportsbook will not blow your socks off and make you leave your favorite sportsbook and never go back. Improvements are still needed, but it is evident that SI Sportsbook is still in its adolescent phase and will continue to improve.

First, confidence in the sportsbook getting better comes from a few areas.

Users at SI Sportsbook will find no issues being able to find college football lines they want to bet on. Finding the individual sports and leagues is easy, and the lines, odds, and other essential information is present, simply making it easy to digest. Some have said SI Sportsbook has an old-timey sportsbook feel, which is okay. Users can feel comfortable knowing that their bets can be placed without distraction.

SI Sportsbook gets four out of five stars to give it a final score. It is simply not at the top of the American market right now. The time may be coming soon, though, as SI is hitting the mark on the big things. As soon as SI can break into more markets, speed up customer service, and expand its banking options, this review could get to five stars.
