As the 51st ranked team in the world playing against one of the tournament favorites, Saudi Arabia’s 2-1 upset of Argentina at the World Cup can rightfully be called one of the biggest upsets in sports history. The underdogs entered the game with +2250 odds, but pulled off an early morning (in the Americas at least) stunner.
Here are the other five biggest upsets in sports history. Where would Saudi Arabia rank on this list?

Douglas was a 42 to 1 underdog when he knocked out Mike Tyson on February 11, 1990.
16 seed UMBC shocks 1 seed Virginia in the NCAA Tournament

Odds were not available for the U.S.’ incredible upset of the Soviet Union at the 1980 Lake Placid Olympics, but rest assured the number would have been high.

The Mountaineers were +33 underdogs when they blocked a potential game-winning field goal to stun the Michigan Wolverines.
Rich Strike wins the Kentucky Derby
80-1 shot Rich Strike did not get into the Kentucky Derby field until the day before the race, but once entered he raced past the field to pull off arguably the greatest upset in horse racing history.
