oklahoma city thunder 113 vs new york knicks 112
ANALYSIS
The Thunder have seemingly been in rebuild mode for years, ever since Russell Westbrook departed for Houston. This year was supposed to be a big step forward after drafting Chet Holmgren 2nd overall, but the rookie went down with a Lisfranc injury in the preseason and his season was done before it started. Despite that though, the Thunder compete every night. They have a tendency to surprise teams that overlook them and have recently pulled off wins over the Clippers (twice) and the Mavs. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is 5th in the league in scoring with 31.6 points per game.
The Knicks have been up and down all season so far. Jalen Brunson has been a bright spot on the court and definitely seems to be the floor general they’ve been looking for, but the Knicks just haven’t been able to beat any good teams. They beat the teams they’re supposed to beat like the Pistons, Magic, Hornets, and Timberwolves, but they’ve lost to all the better teams like the Grizzlies, Bucks, Cavs, Hawks, Celtics, and Nets. The Knicks appear to be the definition of middle of the pack.
Before they meet on Sunday, the Thunder play at home against the Raptors on Friday night and the Knicks have a home game against the Pistons, also on Friday night.
WHY BET ON THE oklahoma city thunder
The Thunder have been a streaky team against the spread. They covered in 4 straight games before failing to cover in the following 3. Against the Knicks though, they’re 8-2 against the spread over their last 10 games. The Knicks’ 22nd ranked defense could help them start another win streak.
WHY BET ON THE new york knicks
The Knicks have failed to cover in 6 of their last 8 games, and 8 of their last 10 games against the thunder. The popular bet to place against the Knicks of late has been the under. The under has hit in 4 out of the last 5 Knick games.
