The Warriors travel to Sacramento to take on the Kings in a winner-takes-all game seven on Sunday. The Warriors were in prime position to take the series in game six as they were playing at home up 3-2, but they blew it and got blown out by the Kings, 118-99.

The Warriors had all the momentum, winning three straight after losing the first two games of the series on the road, but they are now going to have to go on the road, where they’ve been awful all year going just 11-30 in the regular season, and beat the Kings behind their loud and passionate home fans.

Warriors’ guard Klay Thompson remains optimistic about their chances in game seven. In his post-game six press conference, Thompson confidently stated, “It’s up to us to go to Sacramento and do everything we did tonight but opposite…we will respond like the champions we are come Sunday.”

Golden State Warriors (44-38)

The Warriors have been in this situation before, as they are 2-1 in game sevens under Steve Kerr, with their only loss coming in the 2016 NBA Finals due to a superhuman block from LeBron James and an amazing shot from Kyrie Irving. Steph Curry has averaged 28.3 points and 7.3 assists in four career game sevens. In this series, Curry is putting up an impressive 31 points and almost 5 threes per game.

Before their poor 99 point performance in game six, the Warriors were an offensive juggernaut, scoring 118.4 points per game in their first five games of the series. Despite not being in the second round yet, the Warriors have better odds to win the NBA Finals than the 76ers, at +1100 on Borgata

Sacramento Kings (48-34)

The Kings looked like they were backed up on the ropes and about to get knocked out after game five. They had lost three straight and seemingly let the series slip away from them, but that never stopped them from continuing to fight. They came out in game six, on the road where the Warriors had only lost 8 times all year, fought their hardest and came away with a massive victory.

Going back to Sacramento, the Kings are -120 (FanDuel) to win game seven, which would be their first series win in 19 years. De’Aaron Fox and Malik Monk, former college teammates at Kentucky, have been stellar all series, combining for almost 50 points per game.

Our Prediction:

Seemingly the entire country outside of the Bay Area is routing for the Kings, but the Warriors are just too experienced and have too much championship pedigree. Golden State will cover the +1.5 point spread and win 117-114.

The NBA All-Star break is more of the two-third points of the regular season instead of the halfway mark. However, that’s fine by us because we’re always ready for it to be playoff time. Plus, with just about 30 games to play,...
