It’s time once again for Mount Propmore, our four favorite bets for Game 3 of the NBA Finals. After the teams split games in the Bay Area, the Warriors and Celtics headed East for a pair of games at the TD Center. Here are our four favorite props for tonight’s tilt.
1. Stephen Curry Over 4.5 Three-Pointers (+105)
Steph hit a whopping 7 threes (on 14 attempts) in Game 1 and was 5-12 in Game 2. What many people thought would happen, that a combination of Boston guards would hound Curry has not happened at all. If Golden State is playing well, that probably means that Curry is hitting his triples. If they are behind, that might augur more attempts from Steph. We’re going over with a friendly moneyline tonight.
2. Al Horford No Double-Double (-275)
For whatever reason this has become our favorite recurring bet of the Finals. So far, it’s 2 for 2. Horford went for 26 in Game 1, a likely unrepeatable feat that saw one of the worst three point shooters in the league shoot 6 for 8 from deep. However, Al grabbed just 6 rebounds. In Game 2, Horford fell back to earth with 2 points and 8 rebounds. Basically, he has not come close in this series, and he now has one double-double in the last dozen games.
3. Andrew Wiggins Over 1.5 Assists (+100)
This does seem like a 50-50 bet. Wiggins has 2+ assists in 9 of 18 playoff games. But, his per game average has been growing, he had 5 assists in a game against the Mavericks and had two more games with 3 in the Western Conference Finals. Wiggins had zero dimes in Game 1 but had 2 in Game 2. His minutes have been extremely high virtually the whole postseason, so we’re going with the over here.
4. Boston Celtics To Win Game 3 (-3.5, -110)
We’re picking the Celtics to win Game 3, just like we did in Game 1. Boston was blown out in Game 2, but all the damage came in the third quarter after they trailed by just 2 at halftime. The Celtics have a more varied offense, better big men, and a more consistent second scorer in Jaylen Brown than the Warriors have. The Celtics are actually now the favorites to win the series in some books with a -115 NBA champions future and we like Boston to win and cover tonight.
