FanDuel got its start as a fantasy sports site and it was one of the first major fantasy sports sites established, but they now also have a fully functional sportsbook. When you visit the FanDuel site you can choose between fantasy sports or the sportsbook; they operate almost completely separately from each other. Founded in 2009, Fanduel was acquired by Irish bookmaker, Paddy Power Betfair in May of 2018. Company headquarters are located in New York City, USA.

What you’ll like about FanDuel:
  • An excellent sportsbook interface with an extensive and exhaustive list of bet options for each sport.
  • The sports fantasy site has a tremendous number of tournaments available for each sport offered that are well organized and easy to follow. They also separate the pros from the amateurs, so new players have a chance to get their feet wet a little without taking on too big a risk.
  • Betting options within each sport on the sportsbook side is outstanding especially for individual and random football games.
  • The sportsbook live betting is also outstanding; it’s easy to follow, has lots of options for betting, and a great display that automatically updates the odds.
  • FanDuel’s fantasy sports site has reasonable buy-ins for the biggest prize pools, which means bettors might see a larger return on their investment.
  • FanDuel fantasy sports also has a nice research section, resources, and beginner guides that are there to assist players in making better bets and in enjoying the game.
User Interface:

On the sportsbook side, the UI is easily navigated, flexible and user-friendly. The sports fantasy side also provides a good user experience, but navigation is a little more confusing than their sportsbook, requiring a slight learning curve before users can fully get around.

Sports Betting:

The sportsbook offers all the major sports to bet on, such as basketball, baseball, car racing, boxing, football, golf, hockey, mixed martial arts, soccer and tennis, but it does not offer some of the more obscure sports that other sites offer. The Daily Fantasy Sports also offers a decent, but not huge selection of sports to bet on which include college football, the English Premier League, major league baseball, NASCAR, the NFL, and the PGA.

Betting Options:

While the list of sports themselves may not be as varied as other sites, the sportsbook site’s betting options are expansive and the list of leagues offered for each sport is great. In addition, any information bettors might need to place their wager is easily accessed and understood. Similarly, the sports fantasy site does not have quite the expansive list of sports to bet on as other fantasy sports sites, but the tournaments they do offer for each sport are outstanding and varied as well as easy to follow.

Live Betting:

FanDuel’s sportsbook live betting interface is smooth, easy to operate and follow and provides a ton of different bets to choose from. Another nice feature is that bettors don’t have to refresh the page to see updated odds; the updates are all done automatically.

Mobile Betting:

The sportsbook app platform gets high marks for being eye-pleasing, intuitive and user friendly. While some might complain about the lack of bet variety, the quality of the app more than makes up for it. The sports fantasy app gets equally high marks, with a polished appearance and an intuitive user interface. Both the sportsbook app and the fantasy sports app are available for Android and IOS.

Deposit and Withdrawal Methods:

FanDuel has a long list of available deposit and withdrawal methods that make both transaction processes simple and easy for the user. On the deposit side, they offer all the major credit cards and debit cards as well as some lesser known options, the FanDuel prepaid card, PayPal, ACH (echeck), online transfers, PayNearMe, and checks by mail options. On the withdrawal side, they also offer a nice selection of options that are quick and easy to use: ACH, FanDuel pre-paid card, and PayPal.

Bonuses and Promotions:

Bonuses and promotions on the sportsbook side are decent, but not as impressive as what you’ll find on some other sites. What they do offer are a double-your-first-deposit bonus and a daily odds boost. The fantasy site, on the other hand, has quite a few bonuses and promotions going on such as their deposit and referral bonuses, and their “NFL play free until you win” promo. The fantasy sport site also offers a free tournament and tournament guarantees throughout the week.

Customer Support:

There are four options for customer service offered by FanDuel and they are monitored 24/7 so customer support is easily available and staff is helpful as well. The four options are live chat, email, toll-free phone and snail mail.

FanDuel Summary:

Overall, both the FanDuel sportsbook and fantasy sports site get positive reviews. The Sportsbook has a truly outstanding user interface, a terrific array of betting options for each sport as well as an excellent user interface for live-game betting and its mobile app, which offer a similar impressive array of betting options for each sport. The major negative here is that the actual choice of sports offered is quite limited compared to many other sites which offer a nice selection of the more obscure sports such as cricket, darts, etc., The fantasy sports site has a decent user interface, although not nearly as impressive as the sportsbook, but what it lacks here it more than makes up for in its variety of tournaments and the generous bonuses and promotions it offers.
