washington commanders 32 vs philadelphia eagles 21

ANALYSIS

The Eagles are 10.5 point favorites to keep their undefeated season alive. Is there anything the Commanders can do to hand them their first loss?

The Commanders had been winners of three straight thanks to some wildly inexplicable throws but Taylor Heinicke, or more accurately, some incredibly impressive catches by Terry McLaurin. However, in the 4th quarter of their game last week against the Vikings, Heinicke sailed a pass over his receivers head resulting in a pick that put the Vikings, down 10, in perfect position to strike. The Commanders ended up blowing a 10 point 4th quarter lead to Kirk Cousins and company, and now have to go on the road and face the only remaining undefeated team in a prime time Sunday Night Football matchup.

This may come as a surprise, but the Eagles have very few weaknesses on their 8-0 team. They rank in the top-5 on both sides of the ball, Jalen Hurts has shown significant growth as a passer, and they’ve added weapons everywhere they possibly could. While Hurts scored 6 touchdowns with his legs in the Eagles’ first 5 games, he decided to give his arm a turn over their last 3 games resulting in 5 AJ Brown receiving touchdowns in that span. He can beat teams however he wants right now.

The Eagles have owned their division rival Commanders recently, winning 8 of their last 10 matchups. The Commanders will need all the magic Heinicke has left to pull off an upset in this one.

WHY BET ON THE washington commanders

Washington is 3-0-1 against the spread in their last 4 games thanks to the stout play of their defense and Heinicke pulling tricks out of his hat. They’ve been able to keep things close recently, even against better teams

WHY BET ON THE philadelphia eagles

The Eagles are 5-2 against the spread in their last 7 games, and they beat the Commanders by 16 in their Week 3 matchup (easily covering the 5.5 spread).
