Best NFL Prop Bets for NFC and AFC Championship Games

Championship week is upon us in the NFL, and unlike the Super Bowl, it gives us two chances to study the NFL prop bets associated with both the NFC and AFC Championship games.

Given all the attention on each game, you can place a wager on nearly anything, ranging from the first type of score and lines for each quarter to individual prop bets like who will score the first touchdown and how many yards a running back will pick up in the game.

For each championship game, we will have an NFL prop bet that we feel like likely to hit and also will give one for each game that has long odds but will give you a realistic chance of cashing that one in as well.

NFL Prop Bets for the NFC Championship Game

The San Francisco 49ers haven’t been able to earn their record-tying sixth Super Bowl since winning Super Bowl XXIX in 1995. They reached the big game both after the 2012 and ’19 seasons but fell in the Super Bowl each of those two years. In 2021, they lost to the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC title game, so this marks the third time in four years they have gotten to this level.

The Philadelphia Eagles, meanwhile, earned the 1-seed in the NFC playoffs and had no trouble blowing past the New York Giants last week, 38-7. The Eagles are vying for their second Super Bowl appearance in the the last six seasons.

NFC Championship Prop Bet: Brandon Aiyuk Scores a TD

The Eagles and 49ers have two of the best pass defenses in the NFL, but expect San Francisco to attack Philadelphia in the way that Dallas did in a 40-34 victory over the Eagles back in December. In that game, CeeDee Lamb had 10 catches for 120 yards and two touchdowns.

While San Francisco is known more for Deebo Samuel and George Kittle, Brandon Aiyuk led the team in catches (114) and yards (1,015) during the regular season. Aiyuk also wasn’t featured against Dallas. He had just two catches last week in the 19-12 win.

But the odds of Brandon Aiyuk scoring a touchdown contains great value. At DraftKings, you can get nearly 3:1 odds on an Aiyuk TD.

The Bet: Brandon Aiyuk Scores a Touchdown, +245

NFC Championship Longshot Prop Bet: Jalen Hurts Scores a TD in Both Halves

Even though Jalen Hurts didn’t run much against the Giants, he did have a rushing touchdown in the win. This adds to the 13 he scored during the regular season.

Hurts’ legs will be relied on even more this week, and the odds of him scoring a touchdown in each half of this game is a delicious +1100 at DraftKings. Just a note before you place this bet: this is for Hurts to run for a TD or catch a TD pass. A passing TD by the quarterback doesn’t count for this wager.

The Bet: Jalen Hurts Scores a TD in Both Halves, +1100

Best Prop Bets for the AFC Championship Game

There’s plenty of talk about the Kansas City Chiefs being home underdogs in the AFC title game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Since Jan. 1, 2022, the Bengals have defeated the Chiefs three times. This includes a win at Arrowhead in last year’s AFC Championship. KC quarterback Patrick Mahomes also comes into this game with a high ankle sprain. He did lead the Chiefs to a win while playing with the injury in the second half against the Jacksonville Jaguars last week.

AFC Championship Prop Bet: Bengals Win By 1-6

In each of the last three meetings, the Bengals won by three points. Since they are favored by two points in this contest, there’s plenty of value at BetMGM in history repeating itself. Don’t expect Kansas City to roll over at all. The Bengals do seem to have their number, however, meaning that another close Bengals win is certainly a possibility.

The Bet: Bengals by 1-6, +325

AFC Championship Longshot Prop Bet: Travis Kelce to Catch 3 TD Passes

You might think that Mahomes might be hobbled by his high ankle sprain, but there has been a precedent set that says it won’t be all that much of a factor.

Last week against the Jags, Travis Kelce had 14 catches, two of which went for touchdowns. He had 12 TD grabs during the regular season. Without Tyreek Hill this year, Mahomes’ trust and reliance on Kelce has increased. Last week’s production showed that it especially rings true in the playoffs.

The odds of this bet at FanDuel pay handsomely. Kelce is also on enough of a run where it wouldn’t be a surprise if he scores three times in this game.

The Bet: Travis Kelce Scores 3+ TDs, +3200
