Best College Basketball Betting Odds February 27: Our Top 3 Picks including (15) Illinois vs Michigan, (21) UCONN vs Georgetown, and More

A great schedule of games set for Saturday, and should provide tons of excitement and entertainment. Our best bets of today include a Big 12, ACC, and PAC 12 matchups.

Our first matchup of the day begins with a Big East matchup between #21 UConn and Georgetown. UConn has been solid all season, while Georgetown is having a season to forget. Our next matchup of the day is a Big Ten matchup between #15 Illinois and Michigan. This should be a very entertaining game between two good teams. We expect a lot of scoring in this game. The final matchup of our best bets for Saturday is another Big Ten matchup between #22 Ohio State and Maryland. Ohio State is the much better team of the two, but Maryland should keep this game competitive.

Now let’s take a closer look at our best bets for Sunday.

#21 UConn vs. Georgetown

The Bet: UConn -11

A Big East matchup between #21 UConn and Georgetown. UConn has been in and out of the top 25 all through the season. Georgetown only has six wins on the year and it will be extremely hard to get number seven against a great team. This is a rematch from earlier in the season, where UConn destroyed Georgetown 96-73.

UConn is having a great season with a 20-7 record on the year. UConn has been ranked for most of the season and have played great against good conception. UConn is coming off of four straight big wins against their conference rivals. The Big East has been very impressive this season with multiple ranked teams throughout the year. UConn has been one of the top teams in the Big East all season. UConn is a very well rounded team that plays well on offense and defense. They average 76.3 points per game, while only allowing 65.2 points per game to opponents. They have been great overall and it stems from their well rounded play on both ends of the court. UConn should easily win this one again, they won the first game by 23 and it could happen again.

Georgetown is having an awful season with a 6-21 record. Georgetown had a Cinderella story last season, winning the Big East tournament to make the NCAA tournament. This season it looks like neither will happen. Georgetown has looked awful all season. Georgetown has lost an astonishing 17 games in a row. It is hard to believe this team was once 6-4 at a time and are now 6-21. Their defense has been extremely poor all season. They allow 77 points per game to opponents and cannot keep up with that high of scoring. Georgetown averages 71 points per game themselves. Their offense has been decent throughout the season, but their defense is definitely not up to the standards of the great Patrick Ewing.

Easy pick here as we like UConn to cover the 11 point spread.

#15 Illinois vs. Michigan

The Bet: Michigan even

A Big Ten matchup between #15 Illinois and Michigan. This should be a very entertaining matchup between two good teams. Illinois is definitely the better of the two, but Michigan is trying to make a push for the tournament.

Michigan is having an interesting season this year. They were considered a top team heading into this season with tons of great talent returning and a great recruiting class. Michigan has a 15-11 record, but extorted a much better season from this group. They are also now heading into this game without head coach Juwan Howard, who is suspended for the rest of the regular season. Michigan is already 1-0 without Howard as head coach, but the Wolverines will definitely miss their coach for this last stretch of the season. Michigan has looked better as of late, but will need this win to help stay in the tournament hunt. Michigan is currently one of the last four in right is on a lot of bracket projections. We will see if they can win a big game against a big conference rival to stay in that last four in.

Illinois is having a great season with a 19-8 record. They have been a good team all season. They have been led by one of the nations top players in Kofi Cockburn, who is one of if not the best center in all of college basketball. Cockburn leads a great Illinois offense that averages 76.3 points per game. Illinois has a great offense that can dominate in the paint and shoot well from three. Illinois is coming off of a tough loss to Ohio State where they lost by 3 points, but will look to bounce back in a winnable game against Michigan. Michigan should have a tough time stopping this great Illinois offense, but Cockburn won’t have an easy day going up against Hunter Dickinson.

An even matchup but we like Michigan today in this one with an even spread.

#22 Ohio State vs. Maryland

The Bet: Ohio State -4

The final matchup of the night is another Big Ten matchup between #22 Ohio State and Maryland. This is a rematch from earlier in the season where Ohio State easily won the first matchup.

Ohio State is having a great season with a 18-7 record. They have been a top team in a great Big Ten conference all season. Ohio State is playing some great basketball as of late, winning four of their last five games. Ohio State did beat Maryland right before this stretch as well. Ohio State played great in the first game by getting off to a great start in the first half. Ohio State also shot extremely well from three in the first matchup between these teams. Ohio State hit 11 threes that game and it will be hard to reciprocate that offensive performance. Ohio State played great on defense as well, forcing Maryland to take many poor shots. Maryland was able to shoot well from the three as well, which Ohio State will need to prevent in this game. Ohio State won the first matchup 82-67 and should easily win this one again.

Maryland is having a tough season with a 13-15 record. They are a decent team in a good conference, who have played well against their opponents. Maryland is just not an elite team when it comes to the Big Ten conference. They are a very decent team that does not do anything specific at a high level. They average 70 points a game and allow 70 points a game. They are a very even team that has played inconsistent from game to game. They will look to do better on defense in this game against Ohio State. If they can stop Ohio State from scoring over 80 points, they can upset Ohio State.

It will be a competitive game, but we still like Ohio State to cover the 4 point spread.
