On Thursday, the Kings host the Trail Blazers as they try to finish off their best season in years. This is only the second of four eventual matchups between the two squads. The Blazers took the first game, 115-108.

The Kings are on track to make the playoffs for the first time since 2005-2006, breaking the NBA’s longest current playoff drought of 16 seasons. They are currently 32-25 and sit third in the West. They have the best scoring offense in the NBA, averaging 119.46 points per game, in large part due to the duo of De’Aaron Fox and All-Star , Domantas Sabonis. Fox is averaging 24.8 points and 6.2 assists a night with Sabonis putting up 18.8 points of his own as well as a league leading 12.3 rebounds per game. 

The next few weeks will determine if the Blazers are headed for an early offseason, or have a shot to get into the playoffs. They currently sit 12th in the West, but only a half game back from the final play in tournament spot at 28-30. The Blazers also sport a high powered offense with three players averaging over 20 points per game, including superstar Damian Lillard, who is in the midst of what could be his best season yet. He has been dominating on a nightly basis, putting up 31.4 points and 7.3 assists per game.
