On Friday, the struggling Hornets visit the Timberwolves, as Minnesota pushes for the playoffs. Charlotte has won 7 of the last 10 matchups between the two squads, as well as the first game this year, 110-108. 

The Twolves (31-30) have played well, winning 9 of 15, despite not having star center Karl Anthony-Towns. In Towns’ absence, emerging star Anthony Edwards has picked up the load offensively, averaging 26.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 4.9 assists a game. Minnesota was busy at the trade deadline, shipping D’Angelo Russell to LA and receiving Mike Conley and Nickeil Alexander-Walker from Utah. The Twolves are 1-2 since the deadline, but hope the moves will help them improve their playoff position. 

The Hornets limped into break, losing 7 of their last 10. They sit second to last in the East at 17-43. They are led by a trio of scorers who all average at least 20.2 points per game. Leading the bunch is rising star LaMelo Ball. Ball has continued his stellar play from last season, putting up 23.3 points and 8.4 assists, to go along with 6.3 rebounds a night. Charlotte desperately needs upgrades up and down the roster and will to try to get another special young player in this years draft lottery.
