charlotte hornets 120 vs cleveland cavaliers 110

ANALYSIS

Can the Cavs get back on track against the 4-11 Hornets after losing 4 straight?

The Hornets finally won a game against the Magic after losing 8 straight. They had a balanced attack with all 5 starters scoring in double digits, as well as Jalen McDaniels and Theo Maledon putting in 10 and 14 off the bench. The Hornets are a bottom-5 team in the league in almost all offensive categories, and are 23rd in three pointers made. Whether or not Donovan Mitchell is playing shouldn’t matter, The Cavs should be able to right their ship at home against the Hornets.

The Cavs are coming off one of the most exciting losses we’ve seen this year. Despite both Donovan Mitchell and Jarrett Allen sitting on the bench, they almost pulled off an insane comeback against the Timberwolves. They were down 17 at the half, 20 after the 3rd quarter, but Darius Garland erupted for 51 points and the Cavs had a 40 point 4th quarter to make it a 5 point game, but ultimately still a loss. The Cavs should be able to end their skid against the Hornets, but it would be a lot easier if Mitchell was back on the court.

Before they play Friday night, the Hornets will play the Pacers at home on Wednesday night and the Cavs are on the road against the Bucks, also on Wednesday night.

WHY BET ON THE charlotte hornets

The Hornets are 2-7 over their last 9 games against the spread, and the under has hit in 7 of their last 10.  They’re 26th in the league in scoring with 108.7 points per game, and that’s usually not enough for the over to hit or to close the gap with the teams they’re losing to.

WHY BET ON THE cleveland cavaliers

After winning 6 in a row against the spread, the Cavs have now failed to cover in 4 straight. They’re still scoring the basketball though, and the over has hit in 3 of their last 4 games, but they’ll need to score a lot for it to hit against the Hornets who rank 26th in scoring.
