NBA Playoffs Best Bets: Wednesday, May 4

Can the 76ers compete without Joel Embiid in Game 2? Can the Dallas Mavericks snap their ten game losing streak to the Phoenix Suns? Keep reading to find out.

76ers @ Heat

The Bet: Heat -8 (-105, Bet MGM)

With Joel Embiid still out for Game 2, the Miami Heat are -8 favorites after winning Game 1 106-92 as -7.5 favorites.

Newly anointed NBA Sixth Man of the Year Tyler Herro had a game high 25 points off the bench for the Heat. Bam Adebayo added 24 points and 12 rebounds for Mami, which won by 14 despite missing 27 of their 36 three point attempts.

Tobias Harris led the Sixers with 27 points while Tyrese Maxey scored 19 and James Harden added 16.

The Sixers shot even worse from three than Miami, hitting an anemic 6 of their 34 triples. Even if their shots go in this time, they don’t have the depth to play with Miami. The Heat are our best NBA bet of tonight.

Dallas @ Phoenix

The Bet: Mavs +6 (-106, Unibet)

Phoenix Suns guard Chris Paul (3) and Dallas Mavericks guard Jalen Brunson (13) and Phoenix Suns forward Mikal Bridges (25) go after a loose ball during the second half of game one of the second round for the 2022 NBA playoffs against the Dallas Mavericks at Footprint Center. Luka Doncic scored 45 points for Dallas on Monday night but it wasn’t enough for the Mavericks to win. Maybe he’ll go 55 tonight?

The Mavericks will need a second scorer to aid Luka; in Game 1 their second leading scorer was Maxi Kleber who had 19 off the bench.

Meanwhile, Phoenix did it as they always do, with a balanced attack, as all five starters plus Cam Johnson scored in double figures.

Who will be Dallas’s second scorer tonight? Dorian Finney-smith played well in the opener, scoring 15 points and Jalen Brunson has been a revelation recently.

The Suns have now defeated the Mavericks ten straight times. Dallas last beat Phoenix way back in November 2019. We’re not necessarily predicting that Phoenix’s streak will end tonight, but we are saying that Dallas will cover.

The NBA All-Star break is more of the two-third points of the regular season instead of the halfway mark. However, that’s fine by us because we’re always ready for it to be playoff time. Plus, with just about 30 games to play,...
