There are a dozen games on Wednesday night in the NBA, highlighted by a potential NBA Finals preview in Phoenix at Miami, a potential rare sweep of the Bucks by the Atlanta Hawks, and the Knicks will try to keep their season afloat when they visit Luka Doncic and the Mavericks.
The Knicks are hoping to keep the good times rolling after Julius Randle scored a career-high 46 points on Monday to lead New York over the Kings.
The Knicks beat Dallas 108-85 in January but things fell apart for New York in the two months since. New York’s win over Sacramento followed a defeat of the Clippers, so they may be heading in the right direction.
Dallas is red-hot, though, winning five straight games, defeating the Warriors twice and the Jazz once.
However, as well as Dallas has played in winning five straight and seven of their last nine, none of those wins saw them have a victory by double digits. With a line of 8 and a Knicks team playing respectably well, the play here is the Knicks.
Atlanta can sweep Milwaukee with a win on Wednesday night after beating Milwaukee 120-100 in November in Atlanta and then won again at home, defeating the Bucks 121-114 in January behind Trae Young’s 34 points.
Milwaukee has been running through teams as of late, winning five straight, including drubbings of the Thunder and Hornets and victories over arguably the league’s top two teams, Miami and Phoenix.
Atlanta fell to 31-33 after its worst loss of the season, a 113-110 defeat to the Detroit Pistons.
It’s strange to see a team that is trying to sweep a season series be a +5 or more underdog, but Atlanta just hasn’t played well as of late. This is a tough one, but if you can grab Atlanta at +105 and -105, then take them.
This could be an NBA Finals preview as the Phoenix Suns visit the Miami Heat in a battle of the previous two NBA Finals runners-up.
Miami won the first game between these teams this season, a 123-100 road upset as a +9.5 underdog. Tyler Herro and Duncan Robinson combined to score 60 points off the bench to lead Miami.
The Heat have been excellent at home this season, going 23-7 overall and 22-13-1 ATS.
The Suns have lost a few games as of late but this line doesn’t fully reflect that star Devin Booker is returning to the lineup for this game. The Suns are going to cover.
