The Best MLB Bets For Tuesday, April 19

A key part of baseball betting is finding the odds sweet spot. You might love, say, the Yankees in Detroit tonight, but is there any value in taking them at -210? The same thing for the Brewers who are hosting the Pirate today and are -250 favorites. We have three teams, with lines between -100 and -135 today who we really like. These are our three best bets from today’s MLB schedule.

White Sox @ Guardians

The Bet: Guardians Moneyline -135

Chicago White Sox starter Dallas Keuchel had one of the worst dropoffs in recent memory last season when he had a 1.99 ERA in 2020 which fell to 5.28 in 2021. Keuchel allowed three runs in five innings against the Mariners in his only start of the season thus far.

Cleveland’s starter Shane Bieber has allowed four runs in ten innings in his two starts thus far. The 2020 Cy Young winner had a 3.17 ERA in 16 starts last season.

Cleveland is 4-5 on the year and is 0-3 at home having just been swept by the Giants. The White Sox are 6-3 and just took two of three from the Rays.

With a better starter on the hill and arguably the best offense in the AL in the early goings of the season, we’re riding with the Guardians today.

Cardinals @ Marlins

The Bet: Marlins Moneyline (-100, DraftKings)

Miami’s starter on Tuesday against the Cardinals is Jesus Luzardo, who had a remarkable first start of the season, striking out 12 batters in five innings, allowing one run on two hits.

Adam Wainwright, who was pitching professionally when Luzardo was two years old, has been solid through two starts, allowing four runs in 10.1 innings.

Luzardo might be turning his career around after a rough 2021 where he had an ERA in the 6’s for both Oakland and Miami.

We like the hotter pitcher’s team getting +100 odds, so put a unit down on the Marlins today.

Twins @ Royals

The Bet: Twins Moneyline (-110, Bet MGM)

The Twins offense has been up and down so far this season, witness them scoring eight runs twice against the Red Sox in their most recent series, but then just scoring one combined run in the other two games.

The Kansas City Royals are coming off a tough series against the Tigers where they scored just six runs in three games, losing two of three games.

Minnesota is 4-6 on the year while Kansas City is 3-5.

Minnesota starter Chris Archer threw four scoreless innings in his first first start of the season against the Dodgers.

KC starter Carlos Hernandez allowed four runs in 4.1 innings in his season debut against the Guardians.

Once again, we have the better team with the better starter that also has reasonable moneyline betting odds. The Twins at -110 is the play.
