The 5 Best Bets to Make on the World Series

The Astros and the Phillies. One of those teams was the favorite to get here. The other one is one of the most surprising Cinderella stories in years. Here are our five favorite best bets for the World Series.

1. Phillies win Game 1, Astros win the Series (+420, FanDuel)

Here’s the template for this bet. Aaron Nola bounces back from getting shelled by the Padres and wins Game 1. Eventually, the Astros superior rotation silences the Phillies and they win in six games.

2. Phillies win games one and three, Astros win two, four, five, and six. (+3500)

Along the same lines, if you want to get hyper specific this could be a fun one to throw a few dollars at. Okay, maybe just one dollar.

3. Astros in six (+350)

More simple than the above bet. The last two World Series have been won in six games and we’re predicting this one will as well. Could it be Framber Valdez, the likely Game 2 starter for Houston who finishes off the series.

4. Jose Altuve to have the most hits in the series (+500)

Yes, Altuve went 0 for the ALDS. And while he wasn’t hitless in the ALCS against the Yankees, he still hit just .188 (3 for 16) in the series. But, it’s a small sample size and Altuve has a track record of hitting, that includes this season when he was a .300 hitter in the regular season. He had 12 hits in a 2020 playoff series and 9 hits in last year’s ALDS. He’ll be fine.

5. Under 41.5 runs scored in the World Series (-104)

If this series is a sweep, you win this bet. You’re likely to win if it ends in five. But, the good news is if it goes six or seven seven, you’re still very much in play. Houston’s pitching goes eleven deep, so even in the rare blowout, you won’t see many cheap runs being scored.
