After facing teams in the playoff hunt over the last four weeks (and winning all four games), Baltimore gets a team with a losing record at home on Thursday night. While Baltimore was steamrolling opponents in much of their nine-game winning streak, they’ve won their last two by a combined 10 points (vs. San Francisco and at Buffalo) against good defenses in rough weather conditions. Injuries are going to play a factor here. Jets running back Le’Veon Bell, even though he has been somewhat ineffective this season, has already been ruled out. Ravens quarterback, leading rusher, and MVP candidate Lamar Jackson is listed as questionable with a quadriceps injury. This situation obviously needs to be monitored before you place any wagers on this game. As it stands, the 14.5-point spread is the fifth largest in franchise history – they are 4-0 straight up (2-2 against the spread) in the other four games. It’s also the ninth time that a Thursday game has had a spread of two touchdowns or more. In those games, the favored team is 8-0 straight up (6-2 ATS).
